Immigrants: Will they wash us away? So what if they did? They are people too, so what is the objection?
They are people, but are they free people? Are they compassionate? Will they respect the natural world around them the way we do (but really don’t)? Will they hope for the things we hope for? Will they fear the things we fear?
Perhaps this is the objection: the loss of our unique quality and the overriding of our self.
